REFERRAL CODES

Beyond supporting my individual projects, another way that you can support me and my work is to use one of the referral links below. Each of these products and services are ones I use or have used in my personal and work life - most come with a little bonus for both of us! Thanks so much!

  • Buy Me A Coffee

If you don’t live close enough to invite me out to a coffee in person you can buy me a coffee virtually here! I’ll receive it with gratitude and hope that we get the chance to share a cup of coffee over good conversation sometime soon!

  • Hello Fresh

Every single-life PhD student needs to feed themself! And let me tell you, cooking for one is no fun. I’ve found Hello Fresh to be super helpful in keeping me eating healthy and reducing the number of times I eat out per month. Use my referral link and you’ll get $90 off your first box and I’ll get $25! Use the promo code: HS-A0CX38YPU

  • Wealthsimple Invest

I use Wealthsimple Invest for managing my TFSA savings. They caught my attention because of their Socially Responsible Investing Portfolio that allowed me to get into saving for the future in a way that I felt aligned with my values without paying through the nose in management fees.

By signing up using my link below, we’ll both get up to $10,000 managed for free for 12 months! For my portfolio that’s a savings of about $8 per month.

  • Wealthsimple Trade

For investing in specific businesses and renewable energy ETFs I have a TFSA with Wealthsimple Trade. They have free trades on Canadian stocks & funds and fractional trading on many large market cap stocks.

By signing up using my link below and you’ll receive two free stocks to trade valued up to $1500 (and I get a free stock too!).

  • Etsy Seller Account

While I often have mixed feelings about Etsy as a business, the platform has been crucial in allowing me to start my side-business Queero Gear at a relatively low cost. There are processing and transaction fees on each sale, however, to get started the only upfront cost is a listing fee for each item you post.

By signing up using my link below, we will each receive 40 free Etsy listings to get you started - that’s a $10 value.

  • Printful

Printful is a print-on-demand company that I’ve used to help support some aspects of my Queero Gear business. They make getting started easy as they take care of shipping logistics as well as limiting the amount of up-front inventory you need to start a small business. They also have a seamless Etsy integration that reduces labour on the back-end and have locations in Canada and the US to expand your customer base. While I’m hoping to out-grow this service and use a local printer in the near future, Printful has been extremely helpful as a resource to get started.

By signing up using my link below, you’ll receive $5 off your first Printful order!
